The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council celebrates Hempstead County’s Bicentennial through songs of the south and folk dance tunes that offer a treasured glimpse into the history of American folk music in Arkansas. Some of Arkansas’ best folk musicians showcase guitars, mandolins, dulcimers, autoharps and other acoustic instruments that have entertained listeners since the days of the pioneer settlers. You’ll stomp, you’ll clap, you may even sing along! Most of all you’ll experience how music holds such a special place in all of our hearts.
