TEDxUAHT is coming to Hope on April 4, 2020!
TEDxUAHT is a single day conference where we will host a series of speakers, each presenting a TEDx Talk to an engaged audience of 100 thinkers, creators and doers. TEDxUAHT will set the stage for innovators from technology, entertainment, and designers to have meaningful conversations and gain new insights to make their ideas stronger and more global. We will integrate UAHT’s mission to connect students and community while promoting our ideas worth spreading to a global community.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, and made available, free, on TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
HOPE is a place worth believing in, full of innovators who have generated ideas worth spreading. Our theme for TEDxUAHT 2020 will highlight the good and provoke all attendees to seek HOPEful solutions to our challenges.
